In the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit, Pinellas County, Florida, plaintiff William Walker has filed a lawsuit against Florida Elite Youth Football and Cheerleading, Inc. The case (ID: 24-000945-ClI) was filed on February 28, 2024, with Walker seeking damages in excess of $100,000 for alleged injuries sustained during a football game he was refereeing.

Walker's attorney Robert W. Hitchens asserts that on October 14, 2023, his client was attacked by a youth player during a game managed by the defendant. The attack allegedly resulted in bodily injuries to Walker. The complaint further alleges that the defendant should have known about the player's violent propensities due to previous physical contact with other referees.

The plaintiff accuses Florida Elite Youth Football and Cheerleading, Inc. of negligence for allowing a participant with a history of violence to play on the team and failing to protect him from foreseeable harm. As a result of these alleged actions, Walker claims to have suffered bodily injury, mental anguish, loss of capacity for enjoyment of life and incurred medical expenses.
