MIAMI – A former employee of a pet grooming business alleges she was not properly compensated for overtime.

Maria Marulanda filed a complaint on Dec. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Boss, The Pet Connection and Enrique Fernandez citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds Boss, The Pet Connection and Fernandez responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff overtime premiums at a rate of time-and-one-half for working more than 40 hours per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, liquidated damages, all legal fees and interest and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Chad Levy of Law Offices of Levy & Levy PA in Fort Lauderdale.
