Elizabeth Pennisi has taken legal action against her former employer, alleging age discrimination and wrongful termination. On April 29, 2025, Pennisi filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, accusing MDVIP, LLC of unlawful employment practices that violated the Florida Civil Rights Act.

According to the complaint, Elizabeth Pennisi was an employee at MDVIP and had consistently demonstrated excellent work performance. However, on August 14, 2024, she filed a charge with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), claiming that she and several other older employees were unjustly terminated due to their age. The lawsuit asserts that this termination was without justification and part of a discriminatory practice by MDVIP. Pennisi's allegations are grounded in violations of Florida Statute §760.10, which prohibits employment discrimination based on age.

Pennisi's legal filing outlines her belief that MDVIP's actions were intentional and aimed at causing harm or were carried out with willful disregard for her rights. She further claims that MDVIP's management engaged in oppressive conduct characterized by fraud and malice. These allegations form the basis for her pursuit of exemplary and punitive damages under the Florida Civil Rights Act of 1992. The complaint also highlights how younger female employees received more favorable treatment compared to Pennisi and how her job responsibilities were either filled by or transferred to younger individuals following her dismissal.

In seeking justice from the court, Elizabeth Pennisi demands compensatory damages for mental anguish and loss of dignity resulting from MDVIP's actions. Additionally, she requests punitive damages as well as coverage for court costs and attorneys' fees pursuant to Fla. Stat. § 760.11. Her lawsuit emphasizes a demand for a jury trial on all triable issues.

Representing Elizabeth Pennisi is Scott M. Behren from Behren Law Firm located in Weston, Florida. The case has been filed under Case No: 50-2025-CA-004396-XXXA-MB.
