Sean Prussel, individually and on behalf of the estate of Doris Prussel, has filed a lawsuit against Safety Harbor Facility Operations, LLC, doing business as Living Center of Safety Harbor and Raydiant Health Care; Consulate Health Care, LLC; Consulate Management Company III, LLC; LV CHC Holdings I, LLC; ALG LaVie, LLC; LaVie Care Center, LLC; LaVie Holdco, LLC; LaVie Morning, LLC; MCP LaVie, LLC; Columbia Pacific Opportunity Fund, LP; FC Investors XXI, LLC; LV Operations I, LLC; and LV Operations II, LLC. The case was filed in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit serving Pasco & Pinellas Counties in Florida under Case Number 24-002106-CI on May 13, 2024.

The complaint alleges that Doris Prussel suffered severe neglect and inadequate care while residing at Living Center from October 7 to November 9, 2022. The plaintiff's lawyer claims that the defendants failed to provide proper medical care and attention leading to multiple injuries including pressure ulcers and malnutrition. The lawsuit details numerous instances where nursing staff allegedly neglected to turn and reposition Ms. Prussel or document her injuries properly.

Sean Prussel is seeking judgment for damages exceeding $50,000 exclusive of interests and costs. He asserts that the defendants' negligence directly led to his mother's deteriorating health condition and eventual death due to complications from a hip fracture following a fall at the facility.
