In a dramatic legal battle unfolding in Palm Beach County, a couple has taken legal action against several entities following a serious accident. On February 12, 2025, Sophia Medina Highsmith and her husband Gregory M. Highsmith filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit against Phoenix Towers Condominium Associates, Inc., Phoenix Towers A-2A, LLC, and Campbell Property Management and Real Estate, Inc.

The plaintiffs allege that on September 9, 2023, Sophia Medina Highsmith suffered severe injuries after slipping on a wet surface at the Phoenix Towers Condominium property located at 2800 N Ocean Drive, Singer Island. The lawsuit claims that all three defendants were negligent in maintaining safe conditions on their premises. The complaint highlights multiple failures by the defendants to ensure safety for business invitees like Sophia Medina Highsmith. These alleged failures include not maintaining safe ingress and egress areas, neglecting to correct known dangerous conditions, failing to warn about such dangers, and inadequately training employees to handle hazardous situations.

Sophia Medina Highsmith contends that the defendants had actual or constructive knowledge of the hazardous conditions due to rainy weather on the day of her fall but failed to take necessary precautions. As a result of this negligence, she sustained bodily injuries leading to pain and suffering, disability, mental anguish, and loss of enjoyment of life. Her husband Gregory is also claiming damages for loss of consortium due to his wife's incapacitation.

The plaintiffs are seeking damages exceeding $50,001 exclusive of costs and interest from each defendant. They demand judgment for these damages along with post-judgment interest and trial by jury. Their attorney Paul William McBride from Goldlaw P.A., asserts that these damages are both permanent and continuing in nature.

Representing the plaintiffs is Paul William McBride from Goldlaw P.A., The Case ID is: 502025CA001280XXXAMB Div: AA.
