In a compelling legal battle, a Palm Beach County resident has filed a lawsuit against two Florida-based companies, alleging negligence after suffering injuries at one of their restaurant locations. On April 18, 2025, My Le Howe lodged the complaint in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in and for Palm Beach County, Florida, targeting BurgerFi Enterprises, LLC and BF Restaurant Management, LLC.

The lawsuit arises from an incident that occurred on January 20, 2025, at a BurgerFi restaurant located at 660 Linton Blvd in Delray Beach. According to the complaint filed by Howe's attorney Brett J. Yonon from the Law Office of Wolf & Pravato, Howe was injured when a unisex bathroom door closed too quickly and struck her. The plaintiff claims that this dangerous condition was due to negligence on the part of both BurgerFi Enterprises and BF Restaurant Management. "The subject door was not in accordance with NFPA Life Safety Codes, Florida Building Codes, or the Florida Fire Prevention Codes," alleges Howe in her complaint.

Howe contends that both defendants had control over the property and failed to maintain it safely for patrons like herself. She accuses them of neglecting their duty to warn about or rectify the fast-closing door issue which posed an unreasonably dangerous condition. Furthermore, she argues that they failed to properly instruct or supervise employees regarding maintenance standards necessary to prevent such hazards.

Asserting her entitlement to relief based on these grounds, Howe seeks damages exceeding $50,000 exclusive of costs from each defendant for their alleged negligence. She outlines various breaches including failure to provide safe egress from bathrooms and inadequate employee training concerning safety protocols.

In addition to financial compensation for medical expenses incurred due to her injuries—which she describes as permanent—Howe also demands a jury trial for all triable issues related to this case.

Representing My Le Howe is attorney Brett J. Yonon of Wolf & Pravato law firm located in Fort Lauderdale under Case ID: 502025CA003711XXXAMB Div: AA
