Lisa Hehman has filed a lawsuit against Steven Lima and Madcar Pools LLC in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit, Pinellas County, Florida. The case, identified as 24-001306-CI, was electronically filed on March 21, 2024. Hehman is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 for injuries sustained in a car accident involving Lima and a vehicle owned by Madcar Pools LLC.
The plaintiff's attorney alleges that on July 7, 2023, Hehman was driving northbound on Highland Street in Pinellas County when her vehicle was struck by a Nissan Frontier operated by Lima and owned by Madcar Pools LLC. The defendant's negligence is claimed to have resulted in injuries to Hehman's head, left ear, chest, neck, back and legs necessitating chiropractic treatment, traumatic brain injury treatment and orthopedic treatment.
Hehman accuses Lima of failing to exercise due care while operating the vehicle which includes not keeping a proper lookout, failing to yield right-of-way and driving at an excessive speed among other allegations. She also holds Madcar Pools LLC vicariously liable for Lima's alleged negligence as he was operating their vehicle with their express permission.
The plaintiff seeks judgment for damages exceeding $50,000 exclusive of costs against both defendants and demands a trial by jury.
