In the Circuit Court for the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, plaintiff Mary Moore has filed a lawsuit against defendant Charles Leonard Hutchinson. The case, with ID 24-001244-CI, was filed on March 18, 2024.

The complaint alleges that on January 7, 2023, Hutchinson negligently operated a yacht resulting in a collision with a sandbar. Moore, who was a passenger on the yacht at the time of the incident, was thrown forward into plexiglass and other structures on the yacht due to the impact.

Moore's lawyer David Murray from Kemp Law Group argues that Hutchinson's negligence caused foreseeable damages. As a result of the collision, Moore suffered bodily injuries leading to past and future medical expenses, pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish among other damages yet undetermined.

Moore is seeking judgment for damages exceeding Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000), exclusive of costs against Hutchinson and demands a trial by jury. She also seeks any other relief deemed appropriate by the court under these circumstances.
