Sharrice Taylor has filed a lawsuit against Best Buy Stores, L.P., and an unknown store manager in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit, Pinellas County, Florida. The case, numbered 24-001323-CI, was filed on March 22, 2024. The plaintiff alleges that due to the negligence of the defendants, she suffered injuries in one of their stores.

Taylor's lawyer argues that while she was waiting in line to purchase items at a Best Buy store located at 6600 224 Avenue North, St. Petersburg on November 24, 2023, a large television set fell off a shelf and struck her causing immediate injuries. The complaint also states that the unknown store manager failed to maintain the premises in a safe condition and did not warn customers about potential hazards.

The plaintiff is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 excluding costs, interest and attorney’s fees. She claims that the actual value of her claim will be determined by a fair and just jury as per Article 1, Section 21 of Florida Constitution.
