Orlando property owner alleges insurer failed to pay for damages

Insurance 09

ORLANDO — An Orlando property owner is suing an insurance company, alleging breach of contract.

Loretti Brunetti filed a complaint Oct. 9 in  Orange County Circuit Court against Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, alleging the defendant breached the insurance contract by denying coverage claims.

According to the complaint, Brunetti has suffered damage to her property at 5330 Red Cliff Trail, Orlando, that resulted in damage to contents, and the loss of use of the property and possessions therein. Despite Brunetti complying with all conditions, precedent and requirements in order to recover payment under the policy, the suit says, she was denied coverage claims.

The plaintiff alleges Citizens Property refuses to pay the full amount of the claim, contrary to the terms of the policy and Florida law.

Brunetti seeks trial by jury, full coverage for all damages under the policy of at least $15,000, attorney fees, prejudgment interest, costs, and all other relief that the court deems just and proper. She is represented by attorney Peter Mineo, Jr. of The Mineo Salcedo Law Firm, PA in Davie.
