CORAL GABLES, Florida – Two lawyers from Coral Gables law firm Avila Rodriguez Hernandez Mena & Ferri LLP are recognized as “Lawyers of the Year” for 2017.
Patricia M. Hernandez and Wilfredo A. Rodriguez have been included in the list of widely renowned and respected attorneys released by Best Lawyers annually. The peer review publication applauded the contributions and achievements of the two lawyers from Avila Rodriguez Hernandez Mena & Ferri LLP (ARHMF). Both Hernandez and Rodriguez are partners at the law firm.

Hernandez is one of the founding partners at ARHMF. Her legal expertise covers cases linked to corporate and financial services. In particular, Hernandez is known for her work with banks and financial services corporations. In addition to these, she has been handling cases involving domestic and international financial institutions. These matters typically comprise aspects of regulatory, compliance, lending, mergers and acquisitions, and other transactional concerns.
Aside from being named as one of the 2017 “Lawyers of the Year” for her work in banking and financial law in Miami, Hernandez has been recognized by other awards in the industry as well. In 2016, she was named as one of the Best Lawyers in the Business Edition of Women in the Law section for banking and finance law. In the same year, she was named as one of the Top 100 Female Attorneys by Latinvex Latin America. She has been consistently recognized as one of South Florida’s top finance attorneys by the South Florida Legal Guide from 2010 to 2016 as well.
Meanwhile, Rodriguez brings over 25 years of litigation, trial, and arbitration experience to the law firm. A founding partner of ARHMF as well, he formerly served as one of the practice group leaders of the International Litigation and Arbitration practice group of an AmLaw 20 national law firm. Rodriguez generally handles issues linked to contractual matters, business torts and fraud cases. He has worked on franchise and management agreements in the hospitality and other industries, corporate and partnership dissolutions, unfair competition, fraudulent transfers, intellectual property, and real estate-related actions. His professional experience also extends to other international arbitration-related matters such as pre-arbitration interim and conservatory measures and post-arbitration award recognition, annulment, enforcement and collection actions.
His work in the practice area of international arbitration - commercial in Miami earned him a spot in the 2017 list of “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers. A holder of the highest Martindale-Hubbell rating for his profession years, he has garnered several awards throughout his career. These include being names as one of the Florida Super Lawyers from 2008 to 2016. Rodriguez also received commendations from the Chambers & Partners Global, International Who’s Who of Commercial Litigation Lawyers, and Florida Trend’s Legal Elite.
