Carrabba's Italian Grill accused of improper application of tip credit

HILLSBOROUGH — A man is suing former employer Carrabba's Italian Grill LLC, d/b/a Carrabba's Italian Grill, alleging violation of wage laws.

Jonathan Zamudio filed a complaint on Nov. 7 in the Hillsborough County Court of the 13th Judicial Circuit against the defendant, alleging that the employer failed to pay him fair wages.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was underpaid due to improper application of a tip credit. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for applying the credit even when he was doing non-tipped work.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks liquidated damages, all unpaid wages, interest, all monies contributed to the improper tip pool, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Tammy Hammack of Cohen Grossman, Attorneys at Law in Maitland.
