Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli has expanded its nationwide Tax Credit Finance Practice and welcomed Courtney Tawresey as a shareholder in the firm’s Dallas office. She is the third shareholder the firm added in Dallas in the past 12 months. Most recently, Tara Darling joined the firm’s Real Estate Finance Practice. As an experienced tax attorney, Tawresey represents clients in a variety of complex real estate and financing transactions. She focuses her practice on comprehensive advice on structuring federal and state New Markets Tax Credits, Historic Tax Credits, Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Opportunity Zones and other tax credit transactions.

With an advanced degree in tax law, Tawresey has extensive experience in guiding clients through complex tax situations and often counsels them on transactions that combine traditional financing with tax incentives in order to finance the expansion of operating businesses and the development of mixed-use real estate, charter schools, manufacturing facilities, protective shelter facilities, hotels, theaters, health care facilities, and retail and commercial developments. She is also well-versed in mergers and acquisitions, corporate and partnership tax planning, taxation of financial products, private equity, lease financing, public finance and tax-exempt bonds, as well as real estate and exempt organizations. She has significant experience in issues involving international tax, state and local tax and executive compensation. Tawresey received an LL.M. from the University of Denver School of Law and holds a J.D., cum laude, from University of Notre Dame Law School. She received her B.A., cum laude, from Cornell University.
