Two passengers say they were affected by a bed bug infestation during their Carnival cruise.
Dahlia Orth and Lauren Meyer filed their complaint in federal court against Carnival Cruise Line Ltd. Both Orth and Meyer live in Northfield, Ohio.
According to the complaint, the stateroom they were assigned was infested with hundreds of bed bugs which caused them physical discomfort and emotional distress.
The plaintiffs claim the bed bugs latched onto them while they slept and sucked their blood until they were gorged. This resulted in numerous bites and skin rashes causing pain, discomfort, annoyance, sleeplessness, inconvenience, humiliation, anxiety and emotional distress.
