TAMPA — A consumer is suing Central Credit Services, LLC, a debt collector, citing alleged violation of telephone harassment statutes.
Sekita Scott filed a complaint on Oct. 25, in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against Central Credit Services, LLC alleging that the debt collector contacted plaintiff several times a day in an attempt to collect an alleged debt.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, in 2016, Sekita Scott suffered damages from receiving several collection calls. The plaintiff holds Central Credit Services, LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly used an automatic telephone dialing system to contact the plaintiff.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages, punitive damages, actual damages, all legal fees and interest and any other relief as this court deems just. They are represented by Stefan A. Alvarez and William Peerce Howard of The Consumer Protection Firm, PLLC in Tampa.
