Royal Caribbean passenger alleges liquid on floor caused fall, fractured ankle

MIAMI – A Coral Gables resident alleges she was caused to slip and fall while a passenger on the Oasis of the Ships cruise ship.

Carmen Stevens filed a complaint on Oct. 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 2, she sustained physical injuries, including a fractured ankle, as the result of falling due to a liquid substance left on the floor. The plaintiff holds Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to adequately inspect the walkway and failed to eliminate the hazards.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, medical expenses, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief the court deems just. She is represented by Spencer Aronfeld and Matthias M. Hayashi of Aronfeld Trial Lawyers in Coral Gables.
