MIAMI – A woman hired as a social media manager alleges she is owed unpaid wages from her former employer.
Natalie Munoz filed a complaint on Oct. 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Field-Trip LLC and Beaudit B. Bakenga citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2015, she worked for more than 40 hours without being paid overtime compensation. She also alleges that one paycheck in September 2015 was short for six days' worth of pay and when she asked about the shortage, she was not given an answer and was terminated a few days later. The plaintiff holds Field-Trip LLC and Bakenga responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay overtime premiums to plaintiff at a rate of time-and-one-half for working more than 40 hours per week.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid wages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Chad Levy of Law Offices of Levy & Levy PA in Fort Lauderdale.
