Former Eat Greek Souvlaki cook alleges he is owed unpaid wages

MIAMI – A cook has filed suit against his former Miami-Dade County employer over allegations he was not properly compensated.

Jesus Barahona Rodriguez filed a complaint on behalf of other similarly-situated individuals on Sept. 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against the Omega Empire LLC; Duo Epsilon Inc., doing business as Eat Greek Souvlaki; Stravros Dimotakis; Vassilios Dimotakis, also known as Billy Dimotakis citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, between July 2015 and September, he worked a minimum of 66 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation or adequate meal breaks. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly only paid plaintiff a fixed rate per week, did not keep accurate time records and failed to pay plaintiff for six weeks.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, liquidated damages in an equal amount, back pay and other benefits allegedly wrongly denied, all legal fees and interest and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Zandro E. Palma of Zandro E. Palma PA in Miami.
