Michele James has taken legal action against a major convenience store chain, accusing it of negligence after suffering injuries on its premises. On April 22, 2025, Michele James filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, against 7-Eleven, Inc., seeking damages exceeding $50,000.

The lawsuit stems from an incident that occurred on June 11, 2024. According to the complaint, James was visiting a 7-Eleven store located at 8890 Ulmerton Road in Largo, Florida. As an invitee with the store's knowledge and consent, she alleges that she slipped and fell due to a wet and slippery substance on the floor—a condition she claims was dangerous and not apparent to her. The plaintiff asserts that this hazardous condition resulted from the defendant's failure to maintain safe premises.

James accuses 7-Eleven of multiple acts of negligence. These include failing to keep the premises safe for customers like her and not exercising reasonable diligence to identify or remedy the dangerous condition. She further claims that there were no warnings about the slippery floor and that no barriers or protective measures were put in place to prevent such accidents. "Negligently and carelessly failed to discover the unreasonably wet and slippery condition," reads one part of her allegations against the corporation.

The complaint details how these alleged oversights led to severe physical injuries for James. She is reportedly enduring ongoing pain and suffering, both physically and mentally. The impact of her injuries has extended into various aspects of her life—she cites grief, loss of earnings potential, disfigurement, as well as mounting medical expenses as consequences stemming from this incident.

In response to these grievances, Michele James is seeking financial compensation from 7-Eleven for damages surpassing $50,000. Her demands also include coverage for costs incurred due to hospital visits and other related bills arising from her injuries. Additionally, she requests a jury trial on all issues deemed triable by right.

Representing Michele James are attorneys Marc M. Crumpton Jr., Brian L. Elstein from Jack Bernstein P.A., based in Tampa, Florida. The case is being presided over under Case Number: 25-002098-CI in Pinellas County's judicial circuit court.
