According to the complaint, Gregerson claims that the association neglected its duty to ensure the sidewalks were safe for residents and visitors. She alleges that this negligence resulted in her suffering severe injuries after she fell due to an abrupt change in elevation along a misaligned concrete joint while accessing a community mailbox.
Gregerson's complaint details multiple failures by the homeowners association. It accuses them of not warning residents about the dangerous condition of the sidewalk and failing to conduct reasonable inspections to ensure safety. The suit also claims that Strathmore Gate-West concealed defects that should have been disclosed and did not exercise reasonable care under relevant circumstances. Furthermore, it alleges that they failed to install adequate abrasive grit or surface texture on sidewalks to prevent slipperiness when wet and did not hire or properly instruct knowledgeable personnel for maintenance tasks.
