Three Nelson Mullins Attorneys Selected for Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s 2025 Programs

Three Nelson Mullins attorneys were selected to participate in two 2025 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) programs. Tampa partner Erica James was named a LCLD Fellow, and Miami associates Rebecca Lester and Sam Ludington were both nominated for the LCLD Pathfinder program.

Selected by the general counsel and managing partners at LCLD Member corporations and law firms, the LCLD Fellows—practicing attorneys with 8-15 years of experience—have distinguished themselves within their organizations by being deeply engaged, indispensable to key clients and teams, invested in attorney mentoring and professional development, and on a trajectory toward leadership positions. The LCLD Fellows participate in training sessions and are given opportunities to interact with managing partners from the country’s most prestigious law firms as well as key legal and business leaders of large U.S. corporations.

“The LCLD Fellow program continues to produce some of the industry’s most recognized leaders,” James said. “I’m honored to represent Nelson Mullins at this forum and am excited to learn, meet new people, and take advantage of this opportunity.”

The Pathfinder participants are identified as early-career emerging leaders who have distinguished, or show the potential to distinguish, themselves within their organizations. The Pathfinder program is designed to connect and train high-potential, early-career attorneys from diverse backgrounds with foundational leadership skills and relationship-building resources. It runs for seven months.

“Being selected to participate as a 2025 LCLD Fellow on behalf of Nelson Mullins comes with access to resources, career development and strong industry connectivity. As a senior associate this type of partnership is critical to my development,” Lester said.

“I’ve taken advantage of other firm opportunities and partnerships to develop my legal skills and grow my practice, LCLD has a strong brand within the legal community, and I am honored Nelson Mullins selected me to participate,” Ludington said.
