Ronald Ricci has filed a lawsuit against a prominent country club in Florida, alleging severe negligence that resulted in significant personal injuries. The complaint was lodged on January 27, 2025, in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, naming Tequesta Country Club and an unidentified employee referred to as Jane Doe as defendants.

The case revolves around an incident that occurred on April 9, 2023, when Ronald Ricci was at the Tequesta Country Club as a business invitee. According to the complaint, Jane Doe, an employee of the club, was carrying a tray filled with cups of extremely hot liquid without secured lids. The plaintiff claims that this negligence led to the contents being spilled onto him, causing severe injuries. Ricci accuses both the country club and its employee of failing to exercise reasonable care expected from them to protect patrons from such hazardous conditions.

Ricci's lawsuit outlines several accusations against the defendants. He asserts that Jane Doe was negligent by not securing lids on the cups and failing to warn him about the potential danger posed by unsecured cups filled with hot liquid. Additionally, he claims that Tequesta Country Club is vicariously liable for its employee's actions since she was performing her duties within her employment scope at the time of the incident. The plaintiff also argues that the club failed in its responsibility to adequately train and supervise its staff regarding safe practices for serving hot beverages.

The legal action seeks damages exceeding $50,000 for bodily injury and associated consequences such as pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses, and lost earnings capacity. Ricci further demands a jury trial to resolve these allegations.

Representing Ronald Ricci are attorneys Samuel R. Guelli and Guy C. Icangelo Jr., from the Law Offices of Brian D. Guralnick P.A., based in West Palm Beach. The Case Number is: 502025CA000735XXXAMB Div: Al.
