A lawsuit has been filed against a Florida-based event company following an incident at a public festival that allegedly resulted in injury to a minor. On December 20, 2024, Kyle Wonner, acting as the parent and natural guardian of his minor child K.W., lodged a complaint in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, against PMB Events LLC.
The case revolves around an event hosted by PMB Events LLC on March 17, 2024, known as "Paddy's Fest St. Pete," which took place at Williams Park in St. Petersburg. The plaintiff alleges that during this event, K.W., who was an invitee at the festival's designated children's area called "Kid Zone," suffered injuries due to negligence on the part of PMB Events LLC. The complaint details that PMB Events LLC had control over various play equipment such as bounce houses and inflatable slides and had assumed responsibility for their maintenance and supervision.
According to the allegations made by Kyle Wonner, PMB Events LLC failed to conduct its operations safely and neglected to maintain or adequately inspect the play equipment. The complaint lists several specific accusations against the defendant: failing to properly inflate the bounce houses, not training employees adequately in safe practices, neglecting to warn attendees about potential dangers, and not providing sufficient supervision for children using the equipment. As a result of these alleged failures, K.W. reportedly fell while using one of the inflatables, leading to significant injuries including pain and suffering, permanent scarring, mental anguish, and other long-term effects.
Wonner is seeking damages exceeding $50,001 from PMB Events LLC for medical expenses incurred due to K.W.'s injuries and other related costs. The lawsuit demands a jury trial to determine fair compensation for these damages.
Representing Kyle Wonner is attorney Ryan J. Jacobs from Morgan & Morgan P.A., based in Tampa, Florida. The case has been assigned Case Number 24-005606-CI with Judge Ken Burke presiding over proceedings.
