Angela Costa has filed a lawsuit against a Florida-based company, accusing it of negligence that led to her sustaining serious injuries. The complaint was lodged by Angela Costa in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, on November 11, 2024, targeting Shaked 26, LLC, which operates under the name Twin Lakes Plaza.

The incident at the heart of this legal battle occurred on November 20, 2023. Angela Costa claims she was visiting Twin Lakes Plaza as a business invitee when she tripped and fell due to a cracked and poorly maintained section of sidewalk. According to the complaint, this fall resulted in significant personal injuries for Costa. The plaintiff asserts that Twin Lakes Plaza had a duty to maintain its premises safely and warn visitors of any dangerous conditions. However, she alleges that the company failed in these responsibilities by not adequately maintaining or inspecting the sidewalks and walkways, thus creating an unreasonably hazardous environment.

Costa's complaint further accuses Twin Lakes Plaza of several acts of negligence. These include failing to maintain safe sidewalks and walkways, neglecting to inspect these areas for potential hazards adequately, and not warning patrons about existing dangers. Additionally, it is alleged that the defendant did not correct or repair known dangerous conditions despite having sufficient time and opportunity to do so. Costa argues that these failures were due to inadequate staffing and training concerning safety inspections and maintenance tasks.

The plaintiff contends that as a direct result of Twin Lakes Plaza's negligence, she suffered various injuries leading to pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses, lost earnings capacity, and other damages. She maintains that these injuries are either permanent or ongoing and will continue to affect her life adversely.

In her lawsuit against Shaked 26 LLC d/b/a Twin Lakes Plaza, Angela Costa seeks damages exceeding $50,000 exclusive of interest and costs. She demands a jury trial for all issues eligible for such proceedings under the law.

Representing Angela Costa is attorney Lauren M. Pcholinski from Morgan & Morgan Tampa P.A., located in St. Petersburg, Florida. The case is being overseen by Judge Ken Burke under Case Number: 24-004948-CI.
