In a gripping legal battle unfolding in Palm Beach County, Florida, a resident has filed a lawsuit against two corporations for negligence that allegedly resulted in severe personal injuries. On November 8, 2024, William Lafevers lodged the complaint in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit against Regency Centers, LP and Divisions, Inc., claiming that their negligence led to his accident and subsequent injuries.

The case centers around an incident that occurred on March 22, 2023, when Lafevers was visiting a property managed by the defendants at 21230 Saint Andrews Blvd. in Boca Raton. According to the complaint, both Regency Centers and Divisions failed to maintain safe conditions in their parking lot. Specifically, Lafevers alleges that tree roots were negligently allowed to extend out of the ground, creating hazardous conditions. The complaint states that these dangerous conditions had existed long enough for the defendants to have been aware of them and yet failed to take corrective action.

Lafevers accuses both companies of breaching their duty of care by allowing these unsafe conditions to persist. "The Defendant breached said duty by negligently and wrongfully permitting a dangerous condition," the complaint reads. As a result of this alleged negligence, Lafevers claims he suffered significant bodily harm including pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, loss of enjoyment of life, and financial losses due to medical expenses and lost earnings.

The plaintiff is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 from each defendant for his injuries and losses. He also requests any further relief deemed appropriate by the court. The lawsuit highlights broader issues of property management responsibilities and public safety obligations that businesses owe to their patrons.

Representing William Lafevers is attorney Richard Perlini from Ocala, Florida. The case has been assigned Case Number 502024CA010627XXXAMB.
