Holland & Knight Strengthens Central Florida Litigation Practice with Addition of Cindy Duque Bonilla in Orlando

Litigation and trial attorney Cindy Duque Bonilla has joined Holland & Knight's Central Florida Litigation Practice as a partner in Orlando. She was previously a partner with Weinberg Wheeler Hudgins Gunn & Dial.

"Cindy's addition to Holland & Knight will provide our Orlando office and our nationwide litigation practice with a fresh perspective, as she's highly regarded in the community and legal industry," said Suzanne Gilbert, head of the firm's Central Florida Litigation Practice Group. "She is a dynamic attorney with extensive experience and a strong network of contacts, which will greatly benefit the firm and its clients."

Ms. Duque Bonilla has more than two decades of litigation and trial experience, representing clients in jury and non-jury trials in state and federal courts across the United States. She focuses her practice in the areas of catastrophic injury, product liability matters, defense of healthcare insurers, construction law and commercial litigation. She has extensive experience handling cases involving death and catastrophic injuries resulting from truck, automobile and aircraft accidents. Ms. Duque Bonilla defends manufacturers, suppliers, designers and contractors against claims involving alleged manufacturing and design defects. She also has across-the-board experience representing general contractors, owners and design professionals in a variety of construction litigation matters.

Additionally, Ms. Duque Bonilla works with international companies primarily from Latin America in providing legal guidance for business expansion in the U.S., including corporate, real estate, compliance, employment and other issues, to facilitate successful business growth and development.

Ms. Duque Bonilla remains active in the Hispanic and local Orlando communities, serving as a former president of the Hispanic Bar Association of Central Florida (HBACF) and currently serving as a member and volunteer for several organizations, including the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA), Orange County Bar Association and Central Florida Association of Women Lawyers. During her leadership of the HBACF, the association established the first-ever law student scholarship fund in Central Florida. In 2016, the HNBA recognized Ms. Duque Bonilla with the prestigious "HNBA Top Lawyers Under 40 Award," an award that is granted to only 20 attorneys across the country each year. Most recently, she was recognized as one of The Best Lawyers in America in Commercial Litigation.

Ms. Duque Bonilla earned a J.D. degree from the University of Miami School of Law and a B.A. degree from Rollins College.
