A West Palm Beach resident has filed a lawsuit against two construction companies, alleging negligence that led to severe injuries. Antonio Gonzalez lodged the complaint in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, on July 30, 2024, targeting Biscayne Painting Corp. and Perfect Power Construction Services Inc.

According to the court documents, Gonzalez claims that on July 10, 2021, he tripped over improperly placed sandbags at his residence located at 9877 Baywinds Blvd, West Palm Beach. The incident allegedly resulted in permanent injuries. Gonzalez argues that both Biscayne Painting Corp. and Perfect Power Construction Services Inc., which were conducting business at his residence during that time, failed to maintain a safe environment and neglected to provide adequate warnings about hazardous conditions.

The complaint outlines several accusations against Biscayne Painting Corp., including failure to warn of dangerous conditions, inadequate maintenance of premises, improper supervision of maintenance personnel, and failure to inspect for hazardous conditions. "Defendant breached its duty of care owed to Plaintiff by failing to provide a safe environment," states the complaint. As a result of these alleged failures, Gonzalez claims he suffered bodily injury, mental anguish, loss of capacity for enjoyment of life, medical expenses, and loss of earnings.

Similarly, the allegations against Perfect Power Construction Services Inc. mirror those against Biscayne Painting Corp., emphasizing their responsibility for maintaining safety standards and warning residents about potential hazards. The plaintiff contends that both companies' negligence directly contributed to his injuries and subsequent suffering.

Gonzalez is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 exclusive of costs and attorney fees from both defendants. He demands a jury trial for all issues so triable as a matter of right and any further relief deemed just and proper by the court.

The case is being handled by Alberto M. Lara from The Pendas Law Firm representing Antonio Gonzalez. The case ID is 502024CA007167XXXAMB Div: AJ.
