A tragic accident at a popular family entertainment venue has led to a lawsuit seeking justice for a young boy's severe injuries. On August 1, 2024, Adam Dohler filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, against CEC Entertainment, LLC, the company behind Chuck E. Cheese.

The incident occurred on April 16, 2022, when Marshall Dohler, a minor and the son of Adam Dohler, attended a birthday party at the Chuck E. Cheese location in Boca Raton. According to the complaint, Marshall was dancing with other children and a Chuck E. Cheese mascot on an elevated dance platform when he tripped on an unmarked sloping ramp while exiting the platform. The fall caused him to strike his head on the sharp edge of a nearby dining table, resulting in serious and permanent injuries.

The lawsuit claims that Chuck E. Cheese failed to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition by not marking changes in elevation around the dance platform and by placing tables with sharp edges too close to it. "Chuck E. Cheese knew or should have known that children would utilize and play in the raised dance platform on its property," reads one part of the complaint. The plaintiffs argue that these oversights constitute negligence and breach of duty of care owed to their invitees.

Adam Dohler is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 for medical expenses incurred due to his son's injuries as well as for future costs related to ongoing treatment and loss of income. The complaint also highlights non-economic damages such as pain and suffering endured by both Marshall and his father.

Represented by Long, Jean & Wechsler P.A., specifically attorney Lyle R. Long, Adam Dohler demands judgment against CEC Entertainment for damages, costs, interest, and any other relief deemed just by the court.

The Case Number is 502024CA007242XXXAMB Div: AN.
