A recent court filing has brought to light serious allegations of negligence against a prominent medical center. Barrie Dubin filed a complaint against JFK Medical Center, LP in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida on July 23, 2024.

According to the complaint, Dubin was walking on the premises of JFK Medical Center on April 4, 2023, when she encountered an uneven surface on the floor without any mats or warning cones. This hazardous condition caused her to trip and fall. Dubin asserts that she was a guest or invitee at the medical center and conducted herself in a reasonable manner for her own safety. The plaintiff alleges that JFK Medical Center had a duty of care to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition, inspect for dangerous conditions, and warn guests of any hazards.

The complaint further states that JFK Medical Center either knew or should have known about the uneven surface but failed to remedy it or provide adequate warnings. Specifically, Dubin claims that the defendant negligently maintained, inspected, and controlled its floors, making them unsafe and hazardous. As a result of this alleged negligence, Dubin suffered various injuries including disability, disfigurement, pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of capacity for enjoyment of life, loss of income and earning capacity, as well as incurring medical expenses.

Dubin is seeking judgment against JFK Medical Center in an amount exceeding $50,000 exclusive of interest and costs. She is also demanding a jury trial for all triable issues.
