A Florida resident is seeking justice after a severe fall at a local Walgreens store. Raymond George filed a complaint against Walgreen Co. in the Circuit Court of Pinellas County, Florida, on July 25, 2024.

The incident occurred on May 12, 2023, when George was visiting the Walgreens located at 3700 34th Street North in St. Petersburg during his lunch break. According to the complaint, George slipped and fell in a large puddle of water that had accumulated beneath the refrigerated coolers. The fall resulted in significant injuries to his lower back and other parts of his body.

George alleges that Walgreen Co., through its employees and agents, failed to maintain the premises in a reasonably safe condition. The complaint states that the company had a duty to ensure the safety of its customers by properly managing and maintaining their store floors. Specifically, it claims that Walgreens should have corrected or warned about any dangerous conditions such as the puddle of water which constituted a transitory foreign substance.

The plaintiff's accusations are rooted in several alleged breaches of duty by Walgreens. These include failing to maintain and clean the area around the refrigerated coolers, not correcting known hazardous conditions, and neglecting to warn customers about potential dangers. The complaint highlights that the puddle was visibly dirty and had footprints in it, suggesting it had been there for some time—long enough for employees to notice and address it.

As a result of this negligence, George asserts he has suffered permanent injuries that have significantly impacted his quality of life. He details ongoing pain and suffering, physical impairment, mental anguish, and loss of enjoyment of life. Furthermore, he has incurred substantial medical expenses and lost earnings due to his inability to work.

In light of these damages, George is seeking compensation exceeding $50,000 from Walgreen Co., exclusive of costs and interest. He also demands a jury trial for all issues triable by jury.

Representing Raymond George are attorneys Timothy Ingram Sr., Timothy Ingram Jr., and Megan Ingram from Ingram Injury Law based in Clearwater, Florida. The case has been assigned Case Number 24-003295-CI.
