A widow is suing a group of medical professionals and institutions for the wrongful death of her husband, alleging negligence in his treatment following a stroke. Linda Dameron Erickson filed the complaint in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, on June 27, 2024, against Dr. Christina Stiles and several associated medical entities.

The lawsuit details how Glen Erickson was admitted to JFK Medical Center on December 17, 2022, with stroke-like symptoms. Despite being diagnosed with a transient ischemic attack and having a history of atrial fibrillation treated with Eliquis, his condition deteriorated due to alleged lapses in care. The complaint accuses Dr. Christina Stiles and other defendants—Dr. Angel Mesa, Dr. Sahyli Perez Parra, and various medical groups—of failing to provide adequate anticoagulation therapy while Glen Erickson was on NPO (nothing by mouth) status.

According to the complaint, "Defendant, CHRISTINA STILES, M.D., failed to enter specific orders clarifying her intention that GLEN ERICKSON receive Eliquis despite being NPO." The plaintiff asserts that this oversight led to a second massive stroke that ultimately resulted in Glen Erickson's death on December 22, 2022. The lawsuit claims that all defendants involved did not meet the standard of care required for such a high-risk patient.

Linda Dameron Erickson seeks damages exceeding $50,000 for loss of companionship, support services, mental anguish, and funeral expenses under Florida’s Wrongful Death Act. She argues that the defendants' negligence directly caused her husband's catastrophic injuries and subsequent death.

Representing Linda Dameron Erickson is Michael Acker from Gordon & Partners PA. The case has been assigned Case Number: 502024CA006008XXXAMB Div: AG.
