Alicia D. Loree has filed a lawsuit against FI - Highland Pines, LLC, also known as Fountain Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center, in the Circuit Court of the 6th Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida. The case, bearing ID 24-001924-CI, was lodged on May 1st, 2024.

The plaintiff alleges that while residing at Highland Pines Rehabilitation Center, she suffered from malnutrition and weight loss due to inadequate care and supervision by the staff. Represented by the law firm Ford, Dean & Rotundo, P.A., Loree contends that her condition deteriorated due to the negligence of the defendant.

The complaint further states that Highland Pines Rehabilitation Center failed to develop an adequate care plan for Loree despite her being over sixty years old and impaired in her ability to provide for her own care. The damages sought exceed $50,000 exclusive of interest and costs.

Loree is seeking judgment under Florida Statute §400 for violation of her resident's rights based solely on custodial care issues. She asserts that all conditions precedent to filing this action have been satisfied and that a good faith investigation into the merits of this claim was made.
