On May 1, 2024, a lawsuit was filed in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit, Pinellas County (Case Number:24-001918-CI) by Dawn Barnes, as the personal representative of Pamela Nemeth's estate, against Golfview Nursing Center LLC and Sapphire Care, LLC. The complaint alleges that both defendants committed tortious acts against Pamela Nemeth while she was a resident at their nursing home facility.

Represented by her yet to be named counsel, Barnes is suing for damages exceeding $50,000 exclusive of costs, interest, and attorney’s fees. The case details that all conditions precedent to filing this action have been met or waived in compliance with Chapter 400. The lawsuit claims that both Golfview Nursing Center LLC and Sapphire Care LLC were engaged in business within the county where the nursing home is located during the material times.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against both defendants for alleged violations of Chapter 400 while Pamela Nemeth was a resident at their nursing home. It is further alleged that these violations resulted in tortious acts committed against Nemeth in Florida.
