Shaul Moshe Sugar sues Steven Lenoff for unethical retention of funds

In the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit, Palm Beach County, Florida, Shaul Moshe Sugar and SMS Home Improvement LLC have filed a lawsuit against Lenoff and Lenoff P.A., a Florida professional association, and Steven Lenoff, a Florida attorney. The case ID is 502024CA002841 XXXAMB Div: AO and was filed on March 27, 2024.

The plaintiffs allege that Steven Lenoff and his law firm acted unethically by retaining $76,000 deposited into their IOLTA account at Chase Bank. This sum was intended as part of the purchase price for a property in Boynton Beach, Florida which Sugar bought on March 5, 2024. Despite multiple written demands on March 12 and March 18, the defendants have refused to release the funds.

Sugar and SMS Home Improvement are seeking monetary damages in excess of $50,000 exclusive of interest, attorney's fees, and costs. They also seek declaratory relief regarding the unethical retention of funds by the defendants.
