Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A.’s Miami office hosted the Americas Society/Council of the Americas (AS/COA) 9th annual Women's Hemispheric Network Conference April 5. The conference celebrated the high impact female leaders who play a critical role in elevating women in leadership and addressing diversity. Attendees heard from and interacted with a diverse group of executives, pioneers, and experts committed to advancing gender equality and fostering an inclusive work environment.
Opening remarks were presented by AS/COA Miami Vice President Maria Lourdes Teran and Greenberg Traurig Shareholder Carol Barnhart, who focuses her cross-border practice on mergers, acquisitions, and other complex, strategic negotiated deals, advising clients on a wide range of regulatory compliance, financing, and general commercial issues across the United States and Latin America.
The Women's Hemispheric Network launched in 2012 as a workshop on economic empowerment. Since then, it has held events throughout, North, South, and Central America. A highlight of the Miami event was the keynote conversation titled, “A Call to Serve in Public Leadership,” with Miami-Dade County, Florida Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and AS/COA President and CEO Susan Segal.
