TAMPA -- A family is suing a high school after the son was injured doing duties for the football team.

Reidel Anthony, Julia Gonzalez and Reidel Anthony Jr. filed a complaint on July 28 in Hillsborough County Circuit Court against Tampa Catholic High School, Inc. and Diocese of St. Petersburg for negligence, breach of fiduciary duty and negligent misrepresentation.

According to the complaint, on July 29, 2017, Anthony Jr. allegedly suffered injuries while being on the roster of the Tampa Catholic High School football team. R.A. Jr. alleges that after hanging signs in the school for the team, he was grabbed from behind, chocked unconscious, and then dropped from mid-air onto concrete, where his head then stuck the concrete, which resulted in a traumatic brain injury.

Reidel Anthony, Julia Gonzalez and Reidel Anthony Jr. seek compensatory damages, consequential damages, interest, attorney's fees and cost of suit. The plaintiffs are represented by Leighton Leib, David Knox and Gregory L. Henderson.
