TAMPA -- A woman is suing a laundry mat after a chair allegedly broke and she fell to the ground.
Ebony Blaxton filed a complaint on June 17 in Hillsborough County Circuit Court against K Nerd Laundry for personal injury and negligence.
According to the complaint, on May 8, 2020, Blaxton was doing her laundry at the Florida Express Laundry in Tampa. The laundry mat provided metal/plastic chairs for customers to use and sit on.
Blaxton, while sitting in one of the chairs, fell to the ground after the chair broke, the suit says. Blaxton alleges that it is the fault and negligence of the laundry mat for not inspecting the chairs or warning customers that the chairs could break.
Blaxton is represented by David Harvey of Morgan and Morgan P.A.
