TALLAHASSEE — A Florida couple are suing Costco, alleging one of its stores created a safety hazard by not allowing for enough space for customers to safely exit the store.

Brenda Miller, along with her husband, Glendon, are claiming that on a Jan. 9 visit to a franchise store in the 4000 block of Lagniappe Way in Tallahassee, she was hit by a customer who was unable to operate large flatbed cart.

Miller filed a complaint on June 25 in the Leon County Circuit Court against Costco Wholesale Corporation and Jane Doe for damages in excess of $30,000.

Miller states in the suit that she suffered bodily injury as a result of the accident. According to the complaint, an unknown customer referred to as Jane Doe was unable to control her large flatbed cart due to the size and weight of it.

The couple are now seeking monetary compensation as a result of the accident.
