ORLANDO - A Hillsborough County law firm was accused of legal malpractice after allegedly botching a lawsuit and costing the client potential civil damages.
The complaint was filed on April 23 in the Orange County Circuit Court by plaintiff Danubis Group LLC. Danubis is a real estate investment company that entered in a client-attorney relationship with the defendants, the Law Offices of Kevin C. Ambler PA and attorney Kevin Ambler, in 2009.
Danubis requested the defendants represent it in its request for more money from its insurance company than it was awarded after a theft at one of the plaintiff's properties in Winter Park.
According to the plaintiff, the defendants failed to comply with many litigation requirements during the 2013 suit, including discovery requests and court orders. As a result, the case was dismissed and Danubis was accused of fraud upon the court, violation of court discovery and other charges, the suit says.
Ambler is sued for negligence and legal malpractice.
Danubis is represented by the Law Offices of Barry Rigby PA of Winter Park.
