ORLANDO - A lengthy complaint against Lockheed Martin Corporation accused the weapons manufacturer of negligently contaminating the environment and causing multiple deaths.

The complaint was filed on April 19 in the Orange County Circuit Court by plaintiffs Vervicia Henderson, Deborah Reese, Richard Eidemiller and Patricia Ramsey, who represent spouses and parents who have died as a result of the defendant's alleged negligence.

The defendant owns the weapons manufacturing facility at 5600 Sand Lake Rd. in Orlando and has been in operation since 1957.

According to the complaint, the manufacturer used highly toxic chemicals for decades without also using the proper containment and handling protocols. As a result, humans, soil, air and groundwater were exposed to chemical carcinogen concentrations thousands times higher than Environmental Protection Agency standards.

Universal City Property Management Company III LLC is also named in the suit after purchasing some of the property.

The defendants are charged with strict liability, public nuisance, private nuisance, negligence, medical monitoring and loss of consortium.

The plaintiffs are represented by Morgan and Morgan PA of Tampa.
