A former employee is taking legal action against his previous employer, alleging negligence and failure to provide workers' compensation insurance after a workplace injury. Junior Cintron filed a complaint on April 15, 2025, in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, against Coast to Coast Outdoors, LLC.
The lawsuit stems from an incident that occurred on March 9, 2023. On that day, Cintron was performing his duties as an employee of Coast to Coast Outdoors when he was injured by a bungee cord that unlatched and struck him in the right eye while he was securing PVC piping to a van's roof. Despite reporting the injury immediately, Cintron claims that his employer failed to provide necessary workers' compensation insurance information or cover medical expenses and lost wages. This alleged oversight is at the heart of Cintron's complaint. According to the lawsuit, Coast to Coast Outdoors was required under Florida Statute 440.38 to carry workers' compensation insurance for its employees but failed to do so.
Cintron argues that this failure not only violates state law but also resulted in significant personal harm. The complaint details how Cintron has suffered loss of vision in his right eye and incapacitation due to the injury, which has left him unable to work at the same capacity or earn comparable wages as before. The lawsuit accuses Coast to Coast Outdoors of negligence for not maintaining safe working conditions and failing to warn employees about potential hazards associated with their equipment.
In seeking justice through the court system, Cintron demands judgment exceeding $50,000 for damages including bodily injury, pain and suffering, disability, mental anguish, and loss of earning capacity among others. He also requests general damages along with costs and interest related to the case.
Representing Junior Cintron is attorney Jeremy Clark from Clark | Hartpence Law based in St. Petersburg, Florida. The case ID is: 25-001928-CI.
