TAMPA - An April 2 complaint filed in the Hillsborough County Circuit Court against Jett Florida Bells LLC and JEM Restaurant Group of Florida Inc. demands payback for a former employee of the defendants who says his ex-coworkers tampered with his food.
Plaintiff Lenard Woolbright worked at the defendants' Taco Bell location at 2921 E. Busch Blvd. in Tampa. Through circumstances not described in the complaint, Woolbright's former coworkers were allegedly unhappy with the plaintiff.
On July 29, 2019, Woolbright visited the Taco Bell through the drive-through; the plaintiff says the employees were acting in an odd manner and that he noticed an unusual appearance to his food and the toppings on it.
While eating the food the plaintiff allegedly bit into a hard, rock-like foreign substance that broke his tooth in half.
The plaintiff further accuses the restaurant's local and corporate management of doing nothing to remedy the issue when he reported the incident.
The defendants are charged with negligence, implied warranty and strict product liability.
Woolbright is represented by the Carney Law Firm PA of Tampa in his request for damages.
