A Georgia resident has filed a lawsuit against a Florida motel, alleging negligence that led to severe personal injuries. James Connelly initiated the complaint on March 11, 2025, in the Circuit Court for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, targeting VSBV, Inc., doing business as Super 8 Motel.
According to the complaint, James Connelly was an invitee at the Super 8 Motel located at 757 U.S. Highway One in North Palm Beach when he suffered a fall due to hazardous conditions on May 30, 2023. The plaintiff claims that VSBV, Inc., as the owner and operator of the premises, failed to maintain safe conditions in the outdoor and entrance areas of the motel. Specifically, Connelly alleges that there was a dangerous accumulation of dirt, mud, and water which created a slippery surface leading to his accident. "The Defendant negligently failed to maintain...and correct dangerous conditions," states the complaint.
Connelly's lawsuit accuses VSBV, Inc. of multiple breaches of duty including not maintaining safe sidewalks and steps, failing to warn guests about existing dangers, neglecting necessary inspections and repairs, and not adhering to building codes and ordinances. As a result of these alleged oversights by VSBV, Inc., Connelly sustained significant injuries which have resulted in ongoing pain and suffering. The plaintiff argues that these injuries have caused him disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses, loss of earnings capacity among other damages.
In seeking justice from the court system in Palm Beach County where jurisdiction is deemed appropriate given the location of the incident; Connelly demands compensation exceeding $50,000 along with interest costs associated with legal proceedings including attorney fees if applicable under law provisions while also requesting any additional relief deemed justifiable by judicial authorities involved.
