TAMPA - An Asian Pasco County man sued his former employer for allegedly discriminating against and harassing him because of his race, according to a complaint filed on April 2 in the Hillsborough County Circuit Court.

Plaintiff Bruce Lee worked for defendant Morgan Exteriors Inc. from 2015 to 2019. During that time, Lee accuses the company's owner, Kirk Morgan, and other supervisors of making several ongoing derogatory remarks about how Asian Americans look and talk.

Lee says that when he tried to voice his concerns to his employer about the offensive jokes, unfair treatment and jokes, the harassment only got worse.

The plaintiff says he eventually resigned because he couldn't take the racist work environment anymore.

Morgan allegedly contacted the plaintiff's new employer to continue the harassment even after a cease and desist was served.

The company is charged with violation of the Florida Civil Rights Act, race discrimination and retaliation. Lee requests at least $30,000 in restitution. He is represented by Morgan and Morgan PA of Orlando.
