TALLAHASSEE - A Tallahassee woman seeks personal injury compensation from the manufacturer of a pressure cooker that suddenly blew its lid and caused serious injuries, according to a lawsuit filed on Feb. 24 in the Leon County Circuit Court.

Plaintiff Rosa Montas Agudelo sued Tabletops Unlimited for strict liability and negligence after her Phillippe Richard Pressure Cooker exploded during a normal cooking function; as a result, hot food was spewed onto the plaintiff's face, chest and right arm, the suit says.

The lawsuit says that the new pressure cooker gave no warning or reason to believe that it was defective or going to malfunction.

Agudelo is suing for medical expenses, lost wages, physical and mental anguish and other damages deemed appropriate.

The plaintiff is represented by Johnson Becker, PLLC.
