One of the most challenging aspects of diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) initiatives is implementing any initiative, and then quantifying its real value in and to the workplace. Organizations committed to making meaningful progress in DE&I initiatives can sometimes stall or fail to get full leadership buy-in because results can be difficult to measure. These important efforts cannot gain larger buy-in from leadership, employees, and the community without showing progress, advancement and results. That means assessing where an organization started, where it wants to go, and then mapping the building blocks to get it there. It may include asking hard questions of employees, evaluating turnover rates among select gender, racial or ethnic groups, surveying customers, and analyzing social media or other public feedback. Then it means listening and reflecting on the answers to those hard questions, with real inward reflection on the barriers that may be preventing an organization from achieving the set goals.
Our experienced panel will help you to ask the right questions of your organization about DE&I initiatives, and provide insight on where to start and how to keep going through what may appear to be limited advancements in the short term. The panelists will share what DE&I initiatives are working within each of their organizations, what has not worked, and all of the lessons learned along the way. The audience will take away tools to evaluate and measure a company’s DE&I initiatives, and provide insight on emerging best practices by companies in the DE&I space. The panel will be composed of an in-house counsel, a DE&I consultant, a legal practitioner and a company CEO, all part of organizations committed to advancing DE&I initiatives both inside each of their respective organizations and the community at large.
