Lawyer

DLA Piper issued the following announcement on Aug. 12.

DLA Piper is pleased to announce the re-launch of its new, upgraded technology-focused blog, Technology's Legal Edge. The blog will offer insights on the latest legal developments affecting the technology sector in the US and around the world.

DLA Piper lawyers will provide timely perspectives on cutting-edge legal issues in such emerging technologies as artificial intelligence, blockchain, digital assets, proptech and fintech, as well as legal issues that affect the tech sector more broadly, including antitrust and trade regulation. The blog pulls together original content as well as material previously featured across a range of different DLA Piper platforms, and provides it in one easy-to-navigate location.

"Technology's Legal Edge is designed to be a centralized resource for thought leadership covering important developments that affect companies working in the tech sector," said Victoria Lee, global co-chair of DLA Piper's Technology sector. "We are committed to providing value to clients in new and practical ways, and this blog will give investors, entrepreneurs, in-house counsel and leaders from startups as well as established technology companies valuable insight into topics and trends that could impact the way they do business."

"As companies expand their businesses, they are looking for guidance and analysis on the best ways to drive sustainable growth while taking advantage of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and blockchain. Our blog will be a beneficial resource they can consult to aid in their decision-making and move their objectives forward," added Kit Burden, global co-chair of the firm's Technology sector.

DLA Piper's global Technology sector lawyers work across practice areas and offices to support technology clients, offering advice throughout a broad range of areas – from corporate transactions to IP protection, patent law and litigation, and including regulatory, compliance, employment and contracting issues. The firm advises companies that develop, create or are enabled by technology, and whose business models are fundamentally based on technology, from startups to fast-growing and mid-market businesses to mature global enterprises. In 2018, DLA Piper was named the second most favorable and recognized legal brand in the world in the area of Technology Media and Telecoms by Acritas, and is rated in the overall Top Tier for TMT mandates by Chambers.
