ORLANDO — A woman is suing an Orlando parking garage operator, alleging negligence resulted in injuries to the plaintiff.

Shakeshia Amica filed a complaint Jan. 30 in Orange County Circuit Court against Mikeone Maitland Summit LLC, alleging failure to ensure the plaintiff's safety on its premises.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 30, 2017, Amica was at defendant's parking garage, 1950 Summit Park Drive, Orlando, when she tripped due to defective stairs and fell. She says she sustained bodily injuries, resulting in pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement and mental anguish.

The plaintiff alleges Mikeone Maitland Summit failed to install a non-slip grip on the stairs and failed to provide adequate notice or warning of the defective condition of the stairs.

Amica seeks trial by jury and damages in excess of $15,000. She is represented by attorney David R. Heil of Winter Park.
