ORLANDO — Property owners are suing Nationwide Insurance Company of Florida, a licensed insurer, citing alleged breach of insurance policy.

Neilson Enterprises Inc., Lorraine Harp and Hattie McCree filed a complaint on Jan. 2 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida-Orange County against Nationwide Insurance Company of Florida alleging that it failed to perform under the terms of the policy.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on March 21, 2018, Neilson Enterprises Inc., Lorraine Harp and Hattie McCree's property was damage as a result of Hurricane Irma. At the time of the occurrence, the insurance policy issued by the defendant was in full force and effect. The plaintiffs hold Nationwide Insurance Company of Florida responsible because it allegedly denied to pay their claim for damages.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, costs and attorney's fees. They are represented by David R. Heil of David R. Heil, PA in Winter Park.
