ORLANDO — Two Apopka property owners are suing a licensed insurer, alleging breach of an insurance policy.

Luis E. Longhi and Clara U. Longhi filed a complaint Dec. 31 in Orange County Circuit Court against Cypress Property & Casualty Insurance Company, alleging failure to cover damages from Hurricane Irma.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 10, 2017, the Longhi dwelling and personal property at 1332 Chebon Court, Orlando, sustained a covered loss due to Hurricane Irma. The suits says the Longhis promptly reported their loss to Cypress Property and demanded payment for the damage they sustained.

The plaintiffs allege Cypress Property & Casualty Insurance has failed to timely adjust and pay the claim.

The Longhis seek trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, court costs and attorney fees, plus all other just and proper relief. They are represented by attorney Rick L. Martindale of The Martindale Law Group in Orlando.
